1. IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING TEXT MESSAGING DATA
Paramount Roofing maintains a strict policy regarding your mobile privacy. We do not share, sell, rent, or trade customer opt-in information—including phone numbers and consent records—with any affiliates, partners, or third parties for marketing, promotional, or any other purposes unrelated to providing our direct services. All text messaging originator opt-in data and consent information are kept strictly confidential and are used solely to facilitate the communications you have explicitly requested.
2. DEFINITIONS
Service: Refers to the website https://paramountroofing.ca/ and all associated digital platforms, tools, and communication channels operated by Paramount Roofing.
Personal Data: Any information relating to a living individual who can be identified from those data, or from those data combined with other information in our possession.
Usage Data: Information collected automatically, generated either by the use of the Service or by the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit or technical diagnostic data).
Cookies: Small text files stored on your device (computer or mobile) that allow us to recognize your browser and capture certain information to improve your user experience.
3. DATA COLLECTION AND USE
We collect several types of information to provide, maintain, and improve our Service, ensuring a personalized and efficient experience for our clients.
Types of Data Collected:
- Identifiable Personal Information: This includes your full name, primary email address, mobile phone number, and physical or billing address. We also maintain detailed records of your opt-in status, including timestamps and the specific method of consent for SMS and email channels.
- Technical Usage Data: When you visit our Site, we may collect your IP address, browser type and version, the specific pages you visit, the date and time of your access, and unique device identifiers to help us diagnose technical issues.
- Tracking & Cookies: We utilize Session Cookies (to operate our Service), Preference Cookies (to remember your settings), and Security Cookies (to protect your data and verify identity).
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) data: If you submit a request through our online forms, our submission tool or our appointment booking tool, the information you provide is processed through our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, in order to manage your request and follow up.
4. COOKIES AND CONSENT MANAGEMENT
In accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the guidance of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada on meaningful consent, we clearly disclose the cookies we use and let you manage your preferences before non-essential cookies are placed on your device. A preference management banner allows you to accept or decline each cookie category, except for cookies strictly necessary for the Service to function.

You may change or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie management module available at the bottom of our site, or by adjusting your browser settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before such withdrawal.
5. SMS MESSAGING & COMPLIANCE
By opting into our SMS services, you agree to receive text messages related to our professional services. These may include, but are not limited to, project milestone updates, appointment reminders, customer support responses, and essential account notifications.
Verified Opt-In: You will only receive SMS communications if you have explicitly provided consent via our web forms, specifically by checking a dedicated box that clearly outlines the purpose of the messages.
User Control (Opt-Out): You retain full control over your communication preferences. You can cancel SMS notifications at any time by replying “STOP” to any message you receive. Following this, you will receive a final confirmation message and no further texts will be sent.
Data Protection & Integrity: We implement high-level safeguards to ensure your mobile data is never used for unsolicited marketing. While we may share data with trusted subcontractors who provide essential support services (such as customer service platforms), these parties are contractually bound to maintain the same strict confidentiality standards outlined in this policy.
CASL Compliance: All our commercial electronic communications (email and SMS) comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every message clearly identifies the sender — Paramount Roofing — and includes a functional unsubscribe mechanism.
6. ANALYTICS & REMARKETING
To better understand our audience and refine our service offerings, we use specialized third-party tools:
Google Analytics: This service tracks and reports website traffic, allowing us to see how users interact with our content. Google may use this data to personalize ads within its own advertising network. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out browser add-on.
Behavioral Remarketing: We use Google Ads (AdWords) to display relevant advertisements to you on third-party websites after you have visited our Service. This process uses cookies to optimize ad delivery based on your past engagement with our Site. You can manage these settings through the Google Ads Settings page.
7. DATA RETENTION
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, generally 6 years after the end of the business relationship, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. At the end of this period, your data is securely destroyed, anonymized, or de-identified.
8. DATA TRANSFER, STORAGE, & SECURITY
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your province or Canada (including in the United States, in connection with tools such as Google Analytics and Google Ads, or our customer relationship management (CRM) platform or other tools to assist with appointment scheduling or submissions), where data protection laws may differ. In accordance with PIPEDA guidance on cross-border data processing, we require any third-party provider to contractually maintain a level of protection comparable to the principles applicable in Canada. By using our Service and submitting your information, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer and processing within Canada.
The security of your data is a top priority. We implement robust, commercially acceptable security measures—including data encryption, secure access controls, and regular system audits—to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.
9. PRIVACY BREACHES (SECURITY INCIDENTS)
We maintain a record of every security incident involving personal information under our control, as required under PIPEDA. If an incident creates a real risk of significant harm to an affected individual, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as well as the affected individuals as soon as feasible after becoming aware of the incident, and will take reasonable steps to reduce the risk of harm.
10. LEGAL DISCLOSURE OF DATA
Paramount Roofing may disclose your Personal Data in good faith if such action is deemed necessary to:
- Comply with a valid legal obligation or government request.
- Protect and defend the intellectual property, rights, or safety of Paramount Roofing.
- Investigate potential wrongdoing or fraud related to the Service.
- Ensure the personal safety of our users, employees, or the general public.
11. MINORS’ PRIVACY
Our Service is designed for a professional audience. Under guidance from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, a child under the age of 13 is generally presumed unable to provide meaningful consent, which must instead be given by a parent or guardian; between the ages of 13 and 18, capacity to consent depends on the individual’s maturity and the sensitivity of the information involved. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without a parent’s or guardian’s consent. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with Personal Data without the required consent, we will take immediate steps to remove that information from our servers.
12. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request correction if you believe it is inaccurate, incomplete, or ambiguous, and to withdraw your consent to the processing of your data at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. You also have the right to file a complaint with our Data Privacy Manager, or directly with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (or the applicable provincial authority, where relevant) if you believe your rights have not been respected. To exercise these rights, please contact our Data Privacy Manager.
